Khanchali Lake is extremely shallow, with a maximum depth of less than one meter. Its water level fluctuates throughout the year. The lake is rich in aquatic vegetation, providing a habitat for waterfowl and smaller, resilient fish species like crucian carp.
Fishing Tips
- Light Tackle: Float fishing with light tackle in the pockets between weeds is the most viable method.
- Weed Guards: If trying to use any retrieved lures or bottom rigs, weedless setups are mandatory due to the dense aquatic plant life.

The lake is very close to the town of Ninotsminda, making access relatively straightforward via paved roads.
