About Paliastomi Lake
Part of the Kolkheti National Park, Paliastomi is connected to the Black Sea via a narrow channel. It is a unique ecosystem, very shallow, and surrounded by wetlands, making it a haven for both fish and migratory birds.
Fishing Tips
- Spinning for perch and pike is highly productive, especially along the reed beds.
- Because it is so shallow, surface lures or shallow-running crankbaits are ideal.
- The water can be slightly brackish depending on the season and tides.
Access
Shore fishing is almost impossible due to the dense reed beds and marshy ground. The only practical way to fish Paliastomi is by boat. Boat tours and rentals are available near the park entrance.
