About Lake Bazaleti
Lake Bazaleti is one of the most accessible fishing lakes near Tbilisi, sitting at 875 meters elevation in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The lake formed in a volcanic crater and offers calm waters ideal for beginner anglers.
Fishing Tips
- Spring and autumn are best for trout near the cooler inflows
- Summer evenings produce excellent carp bites on corn and boilies
- Arrive early on weekends — parking fills up quickly
- A medium-action spinning rod with 8–12 lb line covers most situations here
Access
The road is paved all the way to the lake shore. Parking is free but limited on busy days. No boat rental is available, but the entire perimeter is fishable from shore.
