About Bareti Lake
Also known by its older name, Bashkoi Lake, this body of water is situated on the Tsalka plateau. It is a shallow, reedy lake that warms up nicely in the summer, providing an excellent habitat for crucian carp and common carp.
Fishing Tips
- Weed Fishing: The lake has significant aquatic vegetation. Fishing near or in gaps between the weed beds with a float or light feeder is the best tactic.
- Summer Focus: Because of its elevation, the water takes time to warm up. The best fishing starts in late June and continues through early autumn.
Access
Access is via dirt roads that branch off from the main regional roads near Tsalka. While generally passable for standard cars in dry weather, higher clearance is recommended.
